Psalm 86:5
For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive,
And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You.

Application:

A broken and repentant heart God will not despise (Psalm 51:17). When we rely on our strength and fail, God is there, waiting for us to call on Him; anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved (Joel 2:32, Romans 10:13). 

When we rely on our understanding, we become proud, forget God, and create chaos. God is merciful and desires that we trust Him in all our ways; He will guide us and provide victory in our trials (Proverbs 3:5-6).

David serves as an example of how we can triumph even when facing overwhelming challenges. He calls on God for help, expressing his need for divine support (I am poor and needy), his humility before God (I am faithful), and his trust in God (your servant … trusts in you) (86:1–2). He has faith in God’s nature and understands that the Lord is gracious and willing to forgive (86:5). Similarly, in our difficult times, we confront any known sins in our lives and appeal to God’s character.

The Lord Jesus Christ represents the fulfillment of God’s love and mercy for those who believe in Him (John 3:16). Let us trust Him today; do not hesitate!
