Psalm 119:60
I made haste, and did not delay
To keep Your commandments.

Application: 

The psalmist emphasized obedience to God’s word. Surrounded by wickedness, as if ropes were wrapped around him (119:61), he remained committed to keeping the Lord’s words and commands (119:57, 60). Obedience was his top priority. His gratitude for Scripture was so deep that he woke at midnight to thank God for it (119:62).

Whom did the psalmist befriend? All who fear God and keep His precepts (119:63).

Psalm 119:65–72 The discipline of God’s word. The word of God disciplined the psalmist. Previously, he had been afflicted and gone astray into sin (119:67), but the word corrected him and taught him discernment so that he could clearly distinguish between right and wrong (119:66).

He recognizes this as good treatment from the Lord (119:65, 68), “for the Lord disciplines the one he loves, just as a father disciplines the son in whom he delights” (Prov 3:12). It is good when we are afflicted by God so that we can learn His statutes (119:71).
