Secured in His Hands

John 10:28-30
And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. I and My Father are one.”

Application:

What happens to those who wish to be Jesus’s sheep? He grants them eternal life so that they will never perish. How secure are those who receive eternal life through Jesus? No one can snatch them from Jesus’s hand (10:28) or the Father’s (10:29).

Thus, believers are not eternally secure because they grip God, but because He grips them. If you come to Jesus by faith, He’s got you. When you’re too weak and your hands go limp, He’ll still be hanging on to you.

The Father and I are one—in essence and purpose (10:30). You don’t get a clearer claim to deity than that. And the Jews knew it, so they picked up rocks to stone him for what they considered blasphemy (10:31, 33).

This man claimed to be God (10:33). However, though they couldn’t accept it, He was telling the truth. Our Creator is one God in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Furthermore, Jesus Christ is one person with two natures (divine and human).
