Colossians 3:17
And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
Application:
Doing something in the name of … Jesus is like signing a contract with his signature. You should do everything under Jesus’s authority, making sure he approves of your actions. Jesus’s name at the bottom of your day signifies his power backing your life. You are to do all things with his reputation in mind.*
As Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 10:31–11:1, everything a believer does—whether a significant task or something as simple as eating and drinking—should be done with a sincere desire to bring glory to God (10:31). Paul encourages the Corinthians to follow his example as he follows Christ, avoiding unnecessary offense to Jews, Greeks, or the church (10:32; 11:1).*
Why? Because God’s reputation is more important than our personal preferences! The gospel is at stake. Eternity hangs in the balance! Let us not seek our own benefit but instead compassionately, righteously, and responsibly pursue the well-being of others so they may be saved (10:33). Let’s live such faithful lives that others see our King displayed and marvel at His glorious nature.*
Giving thanks to God the Father through Jesus Christ is walking in faith, is like saying, “Lord, I thank you for today, for I know you will be with me as I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. I trust you will empower me, through your Holy Spirit, to do your will, all for your glory, in Jesus’ name, amen!” In all we do, we enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise, even when doing daily tasks.

Disclaimer
When God inspires me, I write blogs. Consider this writing as a Bible study. Like the Bereans in Acts 17:11, search the Scriptures to determine whether what I write is so. Always consult with your church ministers about biblical matters. I am also not a professional writer, so some grammar or spelling errors may be present. I try my best to write as efficiently as possible. Your brother in Christ, Ricardo
