Psalm 95:1-2
Oh come, let us sing to the Lord!
Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving;
Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.

Application:

The Hebrew word for “Rock” used here, tsur, highlights the stability and protection our God provides.~

Because God is the rock of our salvation, believers ought to shout joyfully to him corporately (95:1). Our praise is rooted in God’s power to save us. He alone is a great King above all gods because he is the Creator of all things—the mountain peaks … the sea … the dry land (95:3–5). When people in the ancient world came into the presence of kings to whom they were subjected, they would bring gifts. When we enter our King’s presence, the gift we bring is thanksgiving (95:2) for who he is, what he has done, and what we are trusting him to do.*

God visits His children when we approach Him by entering His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise (Psalm 100:4). We praise Him, for He is worthy of praise. We are thankful from our hearts for all that He is, a gracious and merciful God, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, a God who relents from harming (Jonah 4:2). When God hears His children singing and praising Him, He comes to clap and sing with us, no matter the situation we find ourselves in (Acts 16:25-34). God inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3), and whenever God shows up, joy follows (Psalm 16:11).^

When God inspires me, I write blogs. Consider this writing as a Bible study. Like the Bereans in Acts 17:11, search the Scriptures to determine whether what I write is so. Always consult with your church ministers about biblical matters. I am also not a professional writer, so some grammar or spelling errors may be present. I try my best to write as efficiently as possible. Your brother in Christ, Ricardo
