Isaiah 41:10
Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

Application: 

Israel was unique among nations as God’s chosen people. They were to worship Him and serve as His light to the world. God designated Israel and, by covenant, promised to be her protector. Kingdoms and empires that not only refused to acknowledge and bow to Israel’s God but also attacked and oppressed His people would be cast into the dustbin of history (41:11–16). They would be ground into such fine dust that a wind would carry them away (41:16). Meanwhile, God’s people will rejoice and boast in the Holy One of Israel (40:16). He promised to care for them abundantly and will provide (41:17–20).

Once the nations learned of God’s unmatched power to accomplish His will in history, He invited them to rely on their powerless gods to predict the future (41:21–24). Anticipating the futility of that effort, God reiterated His plan to raise up Cyrus to free His captive people from Babylon: I have stirred up one from the north (41:25). Although 41:2 states that Cyrus comes from the east, both are correct. Persia was located east, but it would attack Babylon from the north. God delivers good news for His people; the gods of the nations perform nonexistent acts for theirs (40:27, 29).
