Psalm 119:7
I will praise You with uprightness of heart,
When I learn Your righteous judgments.

Application:

Psalm 119, the longest chapter in the Psalter (and the longest in the Bible), is an acrostic psalm. Each of its twenty-two stanzas is introduced by a different letter of the Hebrew alphabet, presented in order. Each letter is indicated at the beginning of the lines below. The entire psalm expresses appreciation for, celebration of, and dependence on the Word of God to help us navigate life’s twists and turns.*

119:1–8 Aleph. The blessings of God’s word. The Hebrew word translated here as happy (119:1–2) can also mean “blessed.” Those who live their lives according to God’s Word are blessed—and happy! This is the same truth affirmed at the beginning of the Psalter (see 1:1–2). This is why God has commanded His people to diligently keep His precepts (119:4). Doing so brings pleasure. Additionally, the one who keeps His statutes will not be ashamed but will have an upright heart that brings forth praise (119:5–7).*

The Hebrew word translated as judgment in 119:7 could also mean law, rules, and precepts. It indicates the directions the Lord guides us, by His Spirit, in this life (Romans 8:14).

When God inspires me, I write blogs. Consider this writing as a Bible study. Like the Bereans in Acts 17:11, search the Scriptures to determine whether what I write is so. Always consult with your church ministers about biblical matters. I am also not a professional writer, so some grammar or spelling errors may be present. I try my best to write as efficiently as possible. Your brother in Christ, Ricardo
