Jeremiah 23:24
Can anyone hide himself in secret places,
So I shall not see him?” says the Lord;
“Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the Lord.
Application:
God is omniscient and omnipresent. This means He knows what we think before we think it, and He also sees us when we think we’re alone and break His commandments. Some may think they can hide from God through religion (2 Timothy 4:2-4). When certain religious leaders claim that God approves of sin or that He is love and won’t mind us living in sin, these are false prophets. We know for sure that sin will ultimately find us out (Numbers 32:23).
In Jeremiah 23:15-32, we read prophets who tell the people they will be safe from the enemy, when in fact God has claimed the opposite.
God’s message to Judah and Jerusalem was simple: Don’t listen to the prophets because their visions come from their own minds, not from [my] mouth (23:16). In other words, God had not sent them; they had not stood in his presence; they were not sharing his word; in fact, he was against them (23:21–22, 31–32). God couldn’t have made this any clearer.*
The prophets’ promises of peace and safety to Judah directly oppose God’s commands to repent (Jeremiah 25:17-18). If God’s Word condemns your actions and someone tells you that no harm will come to you (23:17), you should find a new counselor. Otherwise, get ready to face the wrath and anger of God (23:19-20). His word is like fire; it’s like a hammer that shatters rock (23:29). If you play a game of chicken with God’s Word, there’s only one possible outcome: you get pulverized.*

When God inspires me, I write blogs. Consider this writing as a Bible study. Like the Bereans in Acts 17:11, search the Scriptures to determine whether what I write is so. Always consult with your church ministers about biblical matters. I am also not a professional writer, so some grammar or spelling errors may be present. I try my best to write as efficiently as possible. Your brother in Christ, Ricardo
