God’s Remnants

Zephaniah 3:17
The Lord your God in your midst,
The Mighty One, will save;
He will rejoice over you with gladness,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing.”

Application:

The remnant that places trust in God and His plan of salvation will find safety and security (3:13). They will sing for joy and celebrate because the Lord has removed their punishment (3:14-15). There is no greater joy than knowing that the sins which condemned you have been forgiven!*

If you are God’s child, not only will you rejoice and shout for joy, but God himself will also rejoice over you and delight in you with singing (3:17). God doesn’t merely save repentant sinners from destruction; he makes them his own. Moreover, those who were disgraced will receive praise and fame (3:19-20). That’s an agenda you want to be a part of.*

May the church of Jesus Christ live before the world as though the King of Israel … is among us (3:15). Live all of life under God, for He has spoken (3:20).*

The Lord, our God, now lives within us in the person of the Holy Spirit, provided we have made Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior and obey Him (Luke 6:46-49, Romans 8:1). We are all creations of God. Still, only a remnant will be saved (Matthew 7:13-14), and these that are born again (John 3:5-8) are the children of God (John 1:12).
