God of All Comfort

2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Comfort in Suffering
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

Application:

Paul praises God, who comforts us when we are in affliction (1:3–4). The following verses clearly show that Paul was in a painful situation. He discusses affliction (1:4, 6, 8), suffering (1:5–7), despair (1:8), and death (1:9–10). Therefore, Paul confirmed Jesus’s promise to his disciples: “You will have tribulation in this world” (John 16:33).

If anyone assures you that you can avoid suffering from health problems, mental anguish, relational difficulties, or financial straits—assuming you have enough faith—they’re not telling you the truth.

Paul was a visible and verbal follower of Christ who was a leader among Christians in terms of faithfulness. He suffered greatly—not because of his faith but because of his faith in and obedience to Christ.

Paul’s suffering, as well as ours, is directly linked to God’s purpose of using us to minister to others.

God is the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our afflictions (1:3–4). We must not allow our suffering to overshadow the unlimited comfort that God offers in every circumstance.

Our trials and tribulations don’t catch God off guard. Nothing happens to you that hasn’t first passed through His fingers. Remember that “all things work together for the good of those who love God” (Rom 8:28).

When God inspires me, I write blogs. Consider this writing as a Bible study. Like the Bereans In Acts 17:11, search the Scriptures to determine whether what I write is so. Always consult with your church ministers about biblical matters. I am also not a professional writer, so some grammar or spelling errors may be. I try my best to write as efficiently as possible.
