Ephesians 4:2
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

Application:

Paul reminds Christians that we must support and edify one another as the family of God. As Spirit-led brothers and sisters, we should be united in a bond of love, thereby glorifying God the Father. 

Paul urges us to walk in a manner worthy of our calling (4:1). We should conduct ourselves in a way that reflects our new status. Among us, there ought to be humility and gentleness—a willingness to submit to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We must show patience toward others and prioritize their well-being.

Jesus said this is how the world will recognize the disciples of Christ: when we love one another (John 13:34-35). 

In the book of Philippians, chapter 2:3, Paul reflects on this concept as found in Ephesians:

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,” The quotation marks were added. 

Trust our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and obey His commandments.
