Seekers of the Way – Poem

Seekers of The Way

Three kings so wise set out that night
To seek the babe so fair.
“We’re seekers of the king,” they said.
“The star will show us where.”

The wisdom that their minds contained
Could never comprehend
The majesty that lay in wait
At their journey’s end.

What thoughts were pondered in their hearts
That caused them not to stray?
Could it be that they, too, like us
Were seekers of His way?

Could they have known the one they sought
Would rule the hearts of men,
And one day, show the world
The way to have victory over sin?

Could they have known we’d gather here
To celebrate His birth
So many years since they were here
Walking on this earth?

I do not know the answers.
It matters not to me,
But somehow in my heart I think
That we would all agree.

That, “Lord, we want to know you
And give our lives to show you
All the love we owe you.
We’re seekers of Your Heart!”
