Jesus, God’s Supreme Revelation

Hebrews 1:1-2
God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;

Application:

The author of Hebrews begins by explaining how God communicated to our ancestors of faith long ago. As our transcendent Creator, God is unknowable unless He chooses to reveal Himself. That is what He has done, pulling back the curtain on spiritual matters to disclose Himself. The Bible is God’s revelation to us. In past times, He communicated with His people in various ways: through prophets, angels (e.g., Josh 5:13-15), and even a donkey (Num 22:22-41).

In these last days, however, he has spoken to us through his Son. When the author mentions “these last days,” he refers to the period described in the New Testament—covering everything from Christ’s birth to his return. Jesus’s purpose was to take on flesh to reveal God (see John 1:1, 14, 18).

God used different methods to reveal himself in the past. But now, he’s directing everything through his Son, the incarnate manifestation of God. He is God’s final Word on every topic.

What else does the author reveal about this Son? Jesus is the heir of all things. God has entrusted creation to his Son. Furthermore, he is the divine power behind creation: God formed the universe through him. When God proclaimed, “Let there be light” (Gen 1:3), Jesus was the Word actively involved (John 1:1–3).

When God inspires me, I write blogs. Consider this writing as a Bible study. Like the Bereans in Acts 17:11, search the Scriptures to determine whether what I write is so. Always consult with your church ministers about biblical matters. I am also not a professional writer, so some grammar or spelling errors may be present. I try my best to write as efficiently as possible. Your brother in Christ, Ricardo
