Isaiah 55:6
Seek the Lord while He may be found,
Call upon Him while He is near.
Application:
God’s invitation was gracious, but there was an urgency to it. The wicked were warned to abandon their evil ways and thoughts and return to the Lord for forgiveness and restoration to his favor (55:7). God can forgive even the worst of sinners because, as he told Israel, My thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways.… For as heaven is higher than earth, so my ways are higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts (55:8–9).*
If we’re honest, grace does not make sense to us because it does not reflect how people treat one another on earth. But God’s perspective is not our perspective. That’s why we need a divine translator. We need the Holy Spirit to enable us to have a heavenly perspective; we need “the mind of Christ” (1 Cor 2:16). To walk in God’s ways, we must assimilate God’s thoughts.*
Salvation is conditional on repentance. All that is necessary to receive forgiveness is repentance—there is no mention of ritual or sacrifice. Attitude, not action, is central to restoring the relationship between God and humankind. Only God can forgive sins.^
In Psalm 130:7–8, in light of God’s faithful love, the psalmist urges Israel (and believers today) to put [their] hope in him for the blessings of redemption and deliverance (130:7). One day, the Lord will redeem Israel from all its iniquities (130:8). They will believe in their Messiah and repent of their rejection of him. Christ’s millennial kingdom will be ushered in.*

When God inspires me, I write blogs. Consider this writing as a Bible study. Like the Bereans in Acts 17:11, search the Scriptures to determine whether what I write is so. Always consult with your church ministers about biblical matters. I am also not a professional writer, so some grammar or spelling errors may be present. I try my best to write as efficiently as possible. Your brother in Christ, Ricardo
