Matthew 22:37–39
Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
Application:
Jesus quickly identified the greatest command, quoting Deuteronomy 6:5: “ Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind “ (22:37–38).
In fact, God’s entire law can be summed up as follows: at their core, the Ten Commandments truly instruct us to love God. While we often associate love with an emotion, it must be more than that, as it is something that can be commanded.
God desires a relationship with you. He wants you to love Him and to passionately and righteously pursue His glory. So, what does it mean to love God? It involves your heart, soul, and mind—in other words, your entire being.
Some Christians love God partially rather than wholly, yet we desire all of God. However, you cannot love God partially and the world partially, as these two are opposed to each other (see 1 John 2:15).
Jesus explained this in Matthew 6:24: We cannot serve two masters, for we will love one and hate (love less) the other. If we love money, the world, or sinful pleasures more than God, then God is not our Master.*
God will not share you with anyone; your love for Him must be all-encompassing.
It’s easy to say, “I love God,” but words can be insincere. Therefore, remember that love for God is consistently expressed through obeying His commands (see John 14:15; 1 John 5:3). Align your choices with His expectations.

When God inspires me, I write blogs. Consider this writing as a Bible study. Like the Bereans In Acts 17:11, search the Scriptures to determine whether what I write is so. Always consult with your church ministers about biblical matters. I am also not a professional writer, so some grammar or spelling errors may be. I try my best to write as efficiently as possible.
