James 1:12
Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
Application:
Everyone is looking for a blessing. Unfortunately, people often mean a car, a house, a mate, a job, or a raise when they say “blessing.” A true blessing, however, is the capacity to experience, enjoy, and extend God’s goodness in life. Whether God’s blessings include external components or not, they are intended to bring about internal change so that our lives display his kingdom relationship and rule.*
Trials open the door to God’s blessings, so embrace them with joy, seek wisdom through prayer, and grow in Christlikeness.*
When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and obey Him, He only allows temptations and trials that we can overcome through the power of the Holy Spirit, prayer, and fasting. When we are tempted, God always provides a way for us to resist and escape temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13). The purpose of these trials, regardless of their severity, is to make us stronger and shape us into the image of Jesus Christ (Romans 8:29). Trials are not just meant to teach us something; they are intended to transform us into who God designed us to be. The greater the temptations and trials, the greater the rewards God has in store for us. But remember, we love God for who He is, not for rewards!
