Follow God’s Plan

Proverbs 14:22
Do they not go astray who devise evil?
But mercy and truth belong to those who devise good.

Application:

As His Word outlines, devising evil corrupts God’s plans for righteous living and opposes what He has decreed. These verses highlight that the wise will ultimately be rewarded for their righteous deeds (Proverbs 14:18). This is not the case for fools: do those who plan evil not go astray (14:22)?

Joseph is a prime biblical example of this principle. His jealous brothers sold him into slavery. He was unjustly accused of adultery and imprisoned. Yet, through it all, he maintained his integrity, and “the Lord was with Joseph” (see Gen 37:26–28; 39:6–21). Ultimately, he rose to prominence, and his wicked brothers bowed before him (see Gen 42:6)—just as he had dreamed they would (see Gen 37:5–11). Indeed, those who follow God are crowned (14:18), and the evil bow before the good (14:19).

Don’t you realize that those born again of the Holy Spirit (John 3) will judge angels? (1 Corinthians 6:3). Let us abandon evil, expose it, combat it, and pursue God’s righteousness. Accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and obey His Word.
