Hate and Expose Evil

Psalm 97:10
You who love the Lord, hate evil!
He preserves the souls of His saints;
He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.

Application:

God is love (1 John 4:8). However, there are seven things He hates:

“These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, A lying tongue,
Hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren.” Proverbs 6:16-19

Those who love God and are called according to His purposes (Romans 8:28), His Saints, must stand against evil and all that opposes the knowledge of God (2 Corinthians 10:3-5, Ephesians 6:10-14). To sit on the sidelines and do nothing is to deny the truth of God, denying its power (2 Timothy 3:5).

In light of God’s sovereign rule and judgment over the wicked, those who love Him must hate evil and obey Him. God will position them to experience His deliverance as He rescues them from the grasp of the wicked (97:10). Such knowledge brings light to the hearts of the righteous, enabling them to view things from God’s perspective (97:11).*

While Jesus Christ was with us, He was the light of the world (John 8:12). Now, we who follow Him—His Saints who obey His commandments—are the light of the world, and that light shines into the darkness to expose evil deeds (Ephesians 5:10-12; Matthew 5:14-16).

Let us make Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior today and obey Him!
