1 Corinthians 1:4-5
I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, that you were enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge,
Application:
Statements of thanksgiving are a common feature in ancient letters. Paul thanks God for the Corinthian believers despite their immorality. He is thankful that they’ve come to Christ and are at least staying engaged with the Christian community; this provides the opportunity for God to work in them and through them.~
Despite the church’s many problems, Paul actually gave thanks for the believers because he was confident they had experienced God’s grace, the basis of salvation (1:4). Because they had been saved, they had been enriched by God in every way, particularly in the spiritual [gifts] they had received, which gave testimony about the validity of Christ’s work in their midst (1:5–7). So even though they had misused their spiritual gifts (something that would be addressed later; see 1 Cor 12:1–14:40), Paul was confident that they would stand blameless on judgment day because of the finished work of Jesus Christ for them (1:8).*
God is faithful to keep his promises to save us through our faith in Christ. As a result of our salvation, we have access to fellowship with Christ. But we are called to live out our fellowship with our Savior through fellowship with his saints. Sadly, the prevalent sins in the church were hindering such fellowship. And this is why Paul needed to write to them.*

Disclaimer
When God inspires me, I write blogs. Consider this writing as a Bible study. Like the Bereans in Acts 17:11, search the Scriptures to determine whether what I write is so. Always consult with your church ministers about biblical matters. I am also not a professional writer, so some grammar or spelling errors may be present. I try my best to write as efficiently as possible. Your brother in Christ, Ricardo
