Psalm 119:105
Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path.
Application:
The Hebrew word for “lamp,” ner, refers to a small clay lamp with a single wick. The lamp helps the psalmist see along his path so he doesn’t stray from it.~
The Word of God serves as a source of light to lead the believer through life. It’s a lamp guiding our feet in a dark world (119:105). When the psalmist’s life was constantly at risk, God’s instruction offered illumination (119:109), helping him view his circumstances from God’s perspective. He was committed to obey [the Lord’s] statutes (119:112) so he could live without stumbling.*
Life cannot exist without light. God’s first written command was “Let there be light” (Genesis 1:3). God instructed Moses to build the golden lampstand in the Old Testament Tabernacle, which symbolizes the fullness and perfection of divine light, sustained by the oil of the Holy Spirit (Exodus 25:31-39).
This lampstand foreshadowed the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, who is the light of the world. Whoever believes in Him, follows Him, trusts in Him, and commits to obedience to Him will not walk in darkness (John 8:12).
This eternal light is now reflected into a dark world by born-again believers who walk, not according to the dictates of the flesh, the world, or the devil, but led by the Holy Spirit (Matthew 5:14-16, Galatians 5:16-25, Romans 8:1, Romans 8:14-17).

Disclaimer
When God inspires me, I write blogs. Consider this writing as a Bible study. Like the Bereans in Acts 17:11, search the Scriptures to determine whether what I write is so. Always consult with your church ministers about biblical matters. I am also not a professional writer, so some grammar or spelling errors may be present. I try my best to write as efficiently as possible. Your brother in Christ, Ricardo
