Our Inheritance in Christ

Ephesians 1:18
the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,

Application:

When you are adopted into God’s family, your life has a unique purpose. God himself has called you. Not only that, but you are also spiritually wealthy. There are no spiritually poor people in God’s family. “Every spiritual blessing” (1:3) is stored in a deposit box with your name on it.

Because I fly as a platinum member for an airline, I received a booklet explaining the perks of membership. However, I didn’t read it for a long time. When I finally did, I discovered that I had access to privileges that could make my life and travel much easier.

A lack of awareness about what’s available to those in God’s family often causes people to miss out. So, Paul wants the Ephesians to recognize their family privileges. Knowing who their Daddy is has huge implications. Many Christians are living spiritually poor lives while sitting on a pile of spiritual wealth. While God holds most of your spiritual inheritance for eternity, He will give you what you need now to fulfill His purpose for you.

Our Father in heaven is the King of the universe; therefore, we, who are born again and carry His DNA through the blood of Christ, are royalty (1 Peter 2:9, Revelation 1:5-6). Yet, we never fully understand our identity in Christ because we listen to the lies of the evil one and his accusations (2 Corinthians 4:4). Open your eyes, saints of God—The Father wants to give you His Kingdom (Luke 12:32). God grieves because His people are destroyed for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). He has provided His written Word. Yet, we disregard it, forget it, and fail to walk in obedience to it.*

When God inspires me, I write blogs. Consider this writing as a Bible study. Like the Bereans in Acts 17:11, search the Scriptures to determine whether what I write is so. Always consult with your church ministers about biblical matters. I am also not a professional writer, so some grammar or spelling errors may be present. I try my best to write as efficiently as possible. Your brother in Christ, Ricardo
