Everlasting Mercy

Psalm 103:17-18
But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting
On those who fear Him,
And His righteousness to children’s children,
To such as keep His covenant,
And to those who remember His commandments to do them.

Application:

David emphasizes the ongoing benefits of God’s loyal love for His people by highlighting the frail and fleeting nature of human life. As children of Adam, we are made of … dust (103:14; see Gen 2:7).*

The days of our lives are like those of a flower that blooms for a moment and then vanishes (103:15–16). By contrast, the Lord’s faithful love endures from eternity to eternity for those who fear him—those who remember to observe his precepts (103:17–18).*

David concludes in Psalm 103:10-22 by acknowledging God as the sovereign King who rules over all and invites all creation—heaven and earth—to bless Him (103:19–20). This reflection on God’s faithfulness toward His people causes David to erupt like a volcano with praise. May the same be true for all believers. Let us take God seriously and declare His praises.*

Do you seek closeness with God? Begin praising Him and consistently give thanks to Him, no matter the circumstances. God dwells in the praises of His people, and in His presence is the fullness of joy (Psalm 22:3, Psalm 16:11).

Jesus Christ, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, emphasized that we should love our God with all that is within us:

Mark 12:30-31
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’

When God inspires me, I write blogs. Consider this writing as a Bible study. Like the Bereans in Acts 17:11, search the Scriptures to determine whether what I write is so. Always consult with your church ministers about biblical matters. I am also not a professional writer, so some grammar or spelling errors may be present. I try my best to write as efficiently as possible. Your brother in Christ, Ricardo
