2 Corinthians 5:14-15
For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.
Application:
Paul is inspired by Christ’s love for sinners. Since Christ died for everyone, all have died; that is, the penalty for all sin has been paid through Christ’s sacrifice (5:14). Consequently, the barrier between God and humanity has been removed, and Paul desires that everyone hears, believes, and receives the good news of forgiveness for sins and reconciliation with God.*
Furthermore, if Christ gave His life for us, then our lives are no longer our own. Rather than living for ourselves, we ought to live for the One who died for us and was raised (5:15). This was the example Paul set, what he wanted the Corinthians to embrace, and what is lacking in the lives of many Christians today.*
The Son of God bore the wrath of God to secure our eternal destiny in glory. What greater privilege exists than serving Him during our brief pilgrimages on earth as a loving response to His overwhelming love for us?*
What greater show of respect and reverence could we offer to Him who died for us than by forsaking sin and setting aside the sins that so easily entangle us (Hebrews 12:1)? We become a new creation, born again of His Spirit, led by the Spirit, trusting in our Lord, and avoiding actions that grieve the Holy Spirit. We give up what we once loved that was contrary to God and embrace what God loves. When we stumble, we quickly repent, forsake, and confess our sins.

When God inspires me, I write blogs. Consider this writing as a Bible study. Like the Bereans in Acts 17:11, search the Scriptures to determine whether what I write is so. Always consult with your church ministers about biblical matters. I am also not a professional writer, so some grammar or spelling errors may be present. I try my best to write as efficiently as possible. Your brother in Christ, Ricardo
