Psalm 62:7
In God is my salvation and my glory;
The rock of my strength,
And my refuge, is in God.
Application:
We have much to fear and nothing to rely on or trust in humankind. Consequently, under human pressure in all its reality, where is our resource? Only and perfectly in God! This truth is stated (Psalm 62:1, 2), repeated as self-encouragement (5, 6), commended to others (7, 8), and grounded in the word of God (11, 12). This is no ‘ivory-tower’ doctrine, but one proved in the hard school of experience: that people can be very menacing (3, 4) and that the world offers no solution either in its people (9) or its practices (10).^
David repeats his confident words with which he began the psalm (62:1–2). He exhorts his soul that God alone is his defense and security. With God as his hope, David could not be shaken (62:5–6).*
David’s kingdom was dependent on God. Without God’s covering of protection, there would be no salvation for David, no glory (honor, reputation)(62:7). Therefore, he encourages fellow saints to pour out [their] hearts before him, as he was himself doing. Believers have every reason to trust God as their ever-present refuge (62:8).*
In John 14:1, Jesus asks us to trust Him and not let our hearts be troubled. When we make Him our Lord and Savior and obey Him, He becomes our Rock, Fortress, and Deliverer.

When God inspires me, I write blogs. Consider this writing as a Bible study. Like the Bereans in Acts 17:11, search the Scriptures to determine whether what I write is so. Always consult with your church ministers about biblical matters. I am also not a professional writer, so some grammar or spelling errors may be present. I try my best to write as efficiently as possible. Your brother in Christ, Ricardo
