Verse of the Day, Spiritual Revelation

newtestament book

1 Corinthians 2:9
But as it is written:“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

Application:

“The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:14).” Quotations added. In other words, without God’s Spirit, we cannot make sense of God’s plan for us.

Spiritual wisdom is made possible through God’s personalized work in our lives. Quoting the prophet Isaiah, Paul explains that for those who love God and are born again by the Spirit, He can reveal things that no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human heart has conceived (2:9).

This does not refer to heaven but God’s work in the believer’s life. It signifies that God can help believers grasp things they cannot learn naturally.

How does he do this? He reveals these things to us by the Spirit (2:10).

This is called illumination.

Although God has revealed His inspired, written Word to us, believers need illumination to gain understanding. This is the work of the Holy Spirit, through the Word of God, within the mind of a Christian, which enables him to supernaturally learn, understand, and apply God’s truths.

It is the voice of God through the Word, which the Holy Spirit personalizes to you. Illumination does not involve new revelation; instead, it involves God helping a believer understand the meaning and application of Scripture amid his own experiences.

When God inspires me, I write blogs. Consider this writing as a Bible study. Like the Bereans In Acts 17:11, search the Scriptures to determine whether what I write is so. Always consult with your church ministers about biblical matters. I am also not a professional writer, so some grammar or spelling errors may be. I try my best to write as efficiently as possible.
