Deuteronomy 6:4-5
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.

Application:

These verses are known in Judaism as the Shema, the Hebrew term that begins Deuteronomy 6:4, meaning “listen, hear.” Moses urged the people to pay attention to what he was about to say due to its significance.

Indeed, Jesus would later refer to it as “the greatest and most important command” (Matt 22:37–39).

God wants us to love Him, not just believe in Him. People need to understand this, because if the Israelites are going to survive and thrive in the promised land, the family unit must become the primary place where faith in and love for the Lord are modeled and passed on. Parents should regularly teach God’s commandments and statutes to their children through everyday events (6:7–9).

Jesus said in John 14:15, “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” Quotation mark added.

There should be no greater love in us than for our God. We love because He first loved us (1 John 4:19). When we love God more than His creation, all our human relational affections are properly prioritized and can withstand trials. A three-strand rope is not quickly broken (Ecclesiastes 4:12). A Christian couple whose love for God is first in their marriage will stand the test of time.

To God, be the glory!

Our Lord Jesus Christ created everything! By Him, For Him!

When God inspires me, I write blogs. Consider this writing as a Bible study. Like the Bereans In Acts 17:11, search the Scriptures to determine whether what I write is so. Always consult with your church ministers about biblical matters. I am also not a professional writer, so some grammar or spelling errors may be. I try my best to write as efficiently as possible.
