Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Application:
In the first chapter of the book of Joshua, the Lord commands him to be courageous three times. Joshua is now succeeding Moses, and Israel is poised to cross into the Promised Land.
Courage is the willingness to act despite fear, doubt, or uncertainty. Joshua should not rely solely on preparation or his abilities, but rather on God’s demonstrated strength and the decision to confront challenges, risks, or discomfort head-on.
The Lord assures Joshua that He will be with him, just as He was with Moses. The Lord will continue to be with us and give us the victory in our battles when we walk in obedience to His Word.
The Lord commands Joshua to observe carefully the whole instruction my servant Moses commanded you … so that you will have success wherever you go (Joshua 1:7).*
For Israel, success involved obtaining their inheritance. To achieve this, they had to remain closely connected to God’s Word. Ultimately, success for a Christian is not defined by popularity, power, prosperity, or position. Success means fulfilling your God-given purpose in life.*
To achieve this, we (like Israel) must meditate on Scripture and closely observe all that is written in it (1:7–8).*
To meditate on something is to contemplate it repeatedly in much the same way a cow chews its cud. When you do this, the Word of God is embedded deeply into your soul, allowing your actions to be guided by God’s perspective rather than by your feelings or cultural opinions.*

When God inspires me, I write blogs. Consider this writing as a Bible study. Like the Bereans In Acts 17:11, search the Scriptures to determine whether what I write is so. Always consult with your church ministers about biblical matters. I am also not a professional writer, so some grammar or spelling errors may be. I try my best to write as efficiently as possible.
