Philippians 4:8
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

Application:

Our minds are a battlefield—a spiritual battlefield. Our enemy, the devil, works tirelessly to conform us to his ways, the ways of the world, and our sinful nature, the flesh (1 John 2:16). When we let the devil and this godless world system fill us with hopelessness, doubts, and despair, he blinds us to the truth—the absolute truth—the Lord Jesus Christ (John 14:6, 2 Corinthians 4:4). 

The devil’s tool is our ignorance of the Word of God and planting doubts in us so that we begin to doubt God and all His promises (Genesis 3:1). 

Paul encourages us to shift our focus and reflect on what we allow into our minds. Romans 12 guides us to surrender to God and let Him renew our minds so that we can think clearly, understand His perfect will, and demonstrate it. 

Our character is shaped by what we do, what we think, and the habits we develop when no one is watching. Our reputation reflects how others perceive us. God’s will is to mold us into the image of His Son, Jesus Christ (Romans 8:29). When we are born again in the Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit helps us focus our thoughts on eternal things above, rather than on temporary things below (Psalm 1).
